Similar to other system, An Information system also has a life cycle. An information system is also born when a problem is recognized.

After a system is developed, it grows until it reaches its majority. Eventually a change in nature of problem or increase in the maintenance cost degrade the values of the system. So, it dies and a new replacement system is born to take its place.

Computerized system plays very important role in modern society as it gives u right information at right time.

All the organization either big or small, private or public, academic or business enterprise. All need accurate and up to-date information system for smooth running in such competitive environment.

The process of the system development is not an easy task and cannot be performed in single stage.

Software development is complex task and it require several stages involving many people who are expert in different areas. These different as in life cycles are called SDLC.

It is systematic process of developing a software system.

Generally, SDLC consist of following order stages in order.

1. Problem Definition

2. Analysis

3. Design

4. Coding

5. Testing

6. Implementing

7. Maintenence
